Ethiopia Sidama Shantawene

Blueberry compote, floral strawberry, custard

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

If you’re like me, always on the search for those blueberry bomb Ethiopians, you’re in luck! This natural/dry processed Ethiopian landrace from the Shantawene village in Sidama is full of fresh berries, rich jam and a custardy sweetness, slightly tannic but not drying, and roasted at a light level to let these nuances shine. Being such a dense high-altitude coffee and roasted lightly this one takes it’s time to degass and open up (2 weeks seemed to be the mark), but once it does you get everything you expect from a natural Ethiopian! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Be sure to grab some now as we only have about 50 lbs of this beauty.

-Colin Quinn, Roaster

From Coffee Shrub (importer)- “This coffee comes from a privately owned farm and processing site near Shantawene Village, tucked away in the Bombe mountains of Ethiopia’s Sidama growing region. Along with coffee from their own farm called “Daye Bensa”, this group are buying and processing coffee from local farmers from three different growing areas nearby – Shantawene, Bombe and Keramo villages.”
