Sumatra Royal Badger
Full bodied, earthy, hint of citrus
This old-school Ateng varietal is low yielding but a bold and semi-fruity coffee.
We hope that our support for this coffee proves the worth of a high quality / low-yielding coffee, dissuading local growers from replanting with higher yielding, inferior, coffees.
Cupping Notes:
- Good body, low acid
- Earthy, woody, with a citrusy snap.
- Great for Moka pot, French Press, or Auto-Drip preparation.

Wanted a medium dark , not heavy and low acid bean. This is perfect if that is your goal. It’s “like” French Roast but not the edge that comes with it. Keep reordering and don’t get tired of it. Thank you Telluride and Doug for originally introducing me to this coffee.

I didn’t like it, at all. After one cup I tossed all the remaining beans in the trash. I was expecting a dark roast with rich, full bodied flavor. The beans I got were light tan and the brew had little flavor and an unpleasant after taste. But, overall it was not as bad as the Aged Sumatra I purchased at the same time. Telluride Coffee is not my Cup of Tea.
