This is a Red Honey processed Geisha, a dynamic and delightful coffee that is sure to please the modern palate. From Costa Rican farm Los Tucanes, this special offering is less delicate than most Geishas due to the honey processing; it bursts with fruit flavors reminiscent of dried strawberry and watermelon with a hint of florality to round things out. If you like modern coffees with sweet, fruity flavors this one’s for you!
From our friends at Red Fox Coffee Merchants- “Los Tucanes (owned by Don Hector Bonilla) is located in San Francisco de León Cortés, one of the highest growing regions of the country and overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The name is attributed to a type of bird that frequents this area, the colorful Toucan. Originally land used for raising animals the farm was purchased 10 years ago with no coffee plants to harvest from. This gave the owners an opportunity to plan and develop in a way that made sense for the current demand of the industry, each hectare carefully marked specifically by variety.
This farm has a particularity, a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and the entire Quepos Valley, which is in front of the imposing Cerro el Dragón and the Montes del Aguacate.”
