Strawberry Danish, Vanilla Bean, Silky Finish

From Red Goni (importer)- “In Tlogosari Village there’s a social non-profit co-op set up by the villagers for the community’s well-being. The cooperative is called “Walida Cooperative,” led by Ahmad Muhlisin. 20% of the profits from the coffee sales go directly into the co-op which runs a local K-12 school that educates the villagers and a small percentage goes to the local government for letting the villagers grow coffee there. Ahmad’s coffee is grown around 1200-1600 masl in the footsteps of Mount Argopuro”
Grown in the shade of the volcano Mount Argopuro on the island of Java, anaerobically fermented and sun-dried, we present to you our second anaerobic offering from Indonesia! We were so pleasantly surprised by the balance and nuance of this coffee, given its processing method; it is not overly fermenty or tannic. Aromas of red wine give way to flavors reminiscent of fruited pastries, both sweet and slightly tangy with doughy vanilla. The processing method that contributes these flavors does overshadow the terroir, so the expected flavors of a coffee from Java are not found, however this is a very fun and exciting cup! Whether you’ve experienced anaerobically fermented coffee or not, this is a fantastic example of what the method offers.
