This coffee hails from the western shores of Lake Kivu and is produced by the Muungano Cooperative. All coffee is produced in house at their own washing station and dry mill. The coop is very progressive and community oriented and has a high percentage of women employed. Please reach out to use if you’d like more information on this!
We’ve had Kivu coffee before but this one sounded interesting and cupped extremely well. It has a peppery but berry-like acidity with notes of sweet dried cranberry and earthy spices with a pleasant, lingering aftertaste.
This coffee is fully certified Fairtrade and Organic and the dry mill in Goma is fully solar powered!
