Ethiopia Kolla Bolcha

Fresh peach, honey, bright & winey

(1 customer review)

The Kolla Bolcha co-op in the Agaro region produces some fine coffees. We first experienced coffees from this area in 2017 when we picked up some Nano Challa ( a co-op close by) but the outturn from this newer co-op, Kolla Bolcha, in our opinion surpasses even that. This fully washed Ethiopian is bright and velvety, with notes of ripe stone fruit, florals and honey; very clean and juicy!

This area in Western Ethiopia has benefited tremendously from USAID’s Technoserve Project which helped establish washing stations in the region, allowing for better processing and ultimately higher prices paid to the farmers for the coffee. Thanks to the work done by our friends at Red Fox we have access to this much sought after specialty coffee.

My coffee snob friends keep telling me to try the Ethiopian coffees and I have tried at least 8 of them, all seemed thin and slightly bitter – not my cup of Joe… That was until I tried this GEM from Telluride!! Super smooth and full/rich with a little peach flavor and tons of depth. LOVE this coffee!!
