Panama Los Lajones Natural
Soft, buttery, caramel
A wonderful, naturally processed coffee from the eastern slopes of the Baru Volcano in Panama. Sourced by our friends at Red Goni we picked up this gem along with a Gesha Natural, which, if you have never tried a Gesha, will totally amaze you!. Los Lajones Natural will ship with a complimentary small bag of the Gesha ( enough for a couple of French Presses or Drip pots) so you can get a sense of HOW different this varietal really is. You may love it or you may hate it but WHO CARES? You didn’t pay for it! Enjoy!!!!
The Natural process is one in which the fruit stays on the coffee while it’s drying; the beans are then hulled and sorted prior to shipping. This process imparts a slightly heavier body and a more rounded mouthfeel than does the traditional washed method. Some of the high notes are muted as a result but the overall taste sensation is delicious, in my humble opinion. Give it a try.
Finca Los Lajones sits between 1750 and 2100 masl and is located between two lava flows to create a unique coffee growing microclimate. The farm cultivates Caturra, Catuai, Gesha and Pacamara varietals .
All the farm operations are carried out with environmental consciousness and deep desire to preserve the unique and exotic biodiversity of the whole area. Please visit when you have a chance!
