Black as we can get it! Slow roasting for 17 mins at up to 467 degrees produces a strong, distinctive taste, much favored by the coffee die-hards. Not for the squeamish!
The beans are a blend of high altitude, hard bean coffees from South America that can withstand such harsh treatment and don’t fall apart under pressure! You’ll notice very few broken beans in our Organic French Roast – a good sign that we’ve used quality beans and treated them with care.

We have been customers of the Bean for roughly 18 years. It is almost the only brand of coffee we use, and the only time we don’t is when I fail to order enough in advance and we run out. Doesn’t happen often. Their French Roast is our go-to, we sample other flavors from time to time and with no complaints, but it just doesn’t get any better than the French Roast in our opinion.

I have lost track of how many years I have been drinking Steaming Bean French Roast coffee. I have tried other brands of french roast coffee but I have not found any other brand that compares to the Steaming Bean. It is excellent!! I love the dark roast flavor and it is the only coffee I care to drink. I always look forward to my morning cup! I was buying it at the grocery store until recently but now I am happy to order it in a larger quantity online . I just switched to the organic french roast and love it! My husband and I are from Rochester, NY. We discovered Telluride coffees on a recent ski trip to CO. I asked the grocery delivery for a local dark roast and Telluride is the one they delivered to our condo. To my dismay, I had neglected to order any milk or cream, so that first morning I was faced with a cup of scary black coffee! Creamless coffee being better than no coffee, I drank it. What a revelation! So smooth. This is how coffee should be. We immediately ordered a bunch for delivery back in Rochester. Now we start our day in the Finger Lakes region with a taste of Colorado. It’s marvelous.
